Litigation Paralegal - Progressive Downtown Law Firm

Our progressive Downtown Law firm client is seeking an experienced Paralegal or Legal Administrative Assistant to work with one Partner who has a busy practice in the area of litigation.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents;
  • Prepare document books including binders, pleadings and settlement documents;
  • Schedule trials, discoveries and mediations;
  • Diarize, maintain and monitor due dates;
  • Maintain and monitor bring forward system;
  • Perform corporate and BC Online searches as required;
  • Prepare client and disbursement accounts;
  • Maintain and manage filing system;
  • Save to Worldox;
  • Provide all legal assistant functions relating to document production, including dictation, photocopying, and sending faxes as required; and
  • Other administrative duties as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the area of litigation;
  • Professional and assertive with a mature demeanor;
  • Independent - enjoy taking initiatives and responsibilities;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Willing to learn and continuously improve skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills – a team player who is willing to help others;
  • Excellent client service skills;
  • Positive and willing attitude together with a sense of humour!
  • Proficiency of MS Office applications; and
  • Graduate of an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program or a recognized Paralegal program is an asset.
