We are assisting our law firm client, a sole practitioner with offices located in the heart of Vancouver.  This client specializes in personal injury and car accident litigation.  They pride themselves in supporting their clients through the process and acting in their best interests both financially and emotionally.

Our client is currently recruiting for a skilled and experienced paralegal who has a strong work ethic, well-honed organizational skills and is compassionate and caring to support and to work alongside with the lawyer in the area of Plaintiff Personal Injury.

RESPONSIBILIES INCLUDE:

  • Manage files from opening to closing
  • Prepare documents and pleadings such as Notices of Civil Claim, Lists of Documents, Chamber Applications and Responses, Mediation Summaries, Trial Briefs, Notices to Admit, Bills of Costs, Infant settlement submissions.
  • Draft correspondence
  • Schedule dates for Examinations for Discovery and Trial
  • Schedule independent medical appointments, prepare letter to the specialists and provide specialists with relevant documents
  • Manage, organize and review large groups of documents, including medical and income records and expert reports
  • For ICBC files, manage clients’ entitlement to Part 7 benefits
  • Liaise with adjusters and clients
  • Assist with trial preparation - schedule witnesses and create document books
  • Maintain a bring forward system
  • Research quantum of damages and liability as well as other research

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Certificate or Diploma from Capilano University or comparable institution

EXPERIENCE

Minimum two years’ experience in personal injury, preferably plaintiff personal injury

SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS
