They are looking for an experienced Plaintiff Personal Injury Paralegal Hybrid to assist in a busy practice. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage files from opening to closing
  • Draft standard letters and documents i.e. Affidavits, List of Documents, List of Specials
  • Schedule dates for Examinations for Discovery and Trial
  • Schedule various independent medical appointments
  • Review medical records
  • Liaise with ICBC
  • Conduct substantive file reviews
  • Request and follow up on medical records and reports
  • Liaise with clients via phone, e-mail and in-person meetings
  • Maintain bring forward system  for limitation and follow-up dates
  • Prepare invoices to clients (using Acumin accounting software)
  • Post time sheets (using Acumin accounting software)
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Legal Administrative Assistant or Paralegal Program considered an asset
  • Sound experience in the area of Personal Injury
  • Strong knowledge of Part 7 benefits
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Excellent English oral and written skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to take initiative and use good judgment. Has a take charge attitude and tact
  • Able to communicate with clients, lawyers and staff
  • Familiar with billing/invoicing processes in a legal environment
