Legal Document Specialist/Word Processor - Downtown Vancouver

They are currently recruiting for a Legal Document Specialist/Word Processor. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and modifying legal documentation, spreadsheets and presentation materials, as well as, troubleshooting documents and providing overflow administrative support to all firm members.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assists various legal professionals and staff as required including the creation and modification of legal documents, spreadsheets, presentation materials and other documentation. Formats and converts documents in accordance with established Firm standards
  • Creating, revising, comparing, converting and cleaning up legal documents, adhering to Firm styles and guidelines
  • Ability to work with complex document markups, redlining, Track Changes and instructions in a timely manner
  • Creating and revising table of authorities and table of contents
  • Troubleshooting problems with document formatting and taking initiative in fixing documents
  • Printing complex documents, including Excel spreadsheets formatted to print properly
  • Provides technological support / troubleshooting assistance as required for legal professionals and assistants to resolve issues with corrupt documents, respond to ‘how to’ questions, and provide document support. This requires attaining and maintaining expert knowledge of various applications.
  • Provides services relating to digital imaging which includes requests for manipulating digital pictures, burning files to CD, compressing electronic files, scanning.

  • excellent knowledge of computer applications and basic office equipment with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Power Point and Adobe Acrobat
  • Filesite (Ipro-Imanage) Document Management System experience preferred
  • Dictation experience required
  • Minimum 50 wpm typing speed
  • Professional with a proven track record of working with confidential information.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have seasoned problem solving skills and be highly motivated.
  • Able to meet deadlines, work well under pressure.
  • Strong grammatical skills, including punctuation and proofreading, attention to detail and accuracy are required.
  • Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines, remain calm with a sense of urgency while maintaining a positive work ethic.
  • Demonstrated commitment to privacy and ethical conduct
  • Occasional overtime
