Legal Administrative Assistant - Litigation Float

Our client, a downtown law firm, is currently recruiting for a Legal Administrative Assistant with experience in Litigation for a float role. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a variety of administrative, clerical, and legal support to assigned lawyers.


• Graduate of Legal Administrative Assistant Program
• Minimum 2+ years’ experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
• Excellent English oral and written skills.
• Excellent organizational skills
• Able to draft standard correspondence with minimum supervision
• Able to take initiative and use good judgment. Has a take charge attitude and tact
• Able to communicate with clients, lawyers and staff
• Familiar with billing/invoicing processes in a legal environment

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare correspondence, faxes, documents, etc. using Digital Dictaphone, email instructions, copy typing and handwritten notes: using application software (Word & Outlook)
• Draft standard letters, documents and pleadings
• Set trials, discoveries, etc. and prepare required documentation
• Prepare pleadings & document briefs, able to work from precedents
• Prepare lists of documents
• Open files and maintain filing system
• Maintain bring forward system to ensure follow up and receipt of requested materials/documents
• Prepare invoices to clients (using Acumin accounting software)
• Post time sheets (using Acumin accounting software)
• Perform other related duties as required
