Legal Administrative Assistant - Plaintiff Personal Injury

Description:

We are assisting our client, an established downtown Vancouver firm specializing in plaintiff personal injury, recruit an intermediate-level Legal Administrative Assistant, preferably with experience in the area of plaintiff personal injury.

 Responsibilities:

  • General work with lawyers and performing miscellaneous requests
  • Writing request letters and emails
  • Liaison with clients, ICBC and other insurers and defence counsel.
  • Coordinate calendars, set up appointments, draft pleadings
  • File documents in Court
  • Open/close files
  • Updating Bring Forward/calendaring system and processing as needed
  • General file management, indexing of client documents and clerical duties pertaining to files
  • Any other duties that may be required e.g. for vacation/break relief or for work redistribution

Qualifications/Skills/Attributes: 

  • Minimum 2 years of previous work experience at a law firm
  • Courteous, people-oriented, excellent communications skills
  • Flexible, efficient, able to take initiative
  • Demonstrates priority setting skills, organization skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn
  • Able to adapt to changing and challenging situations
  • Able to work independently and as a team player/contributor
  • Proficient in Windows environment and Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and preferably in other programs such as PCLaw (accounting), and Time Matters
